Paulo Arrais, a renowned arts connoisseur, retired as a Principal Dancer from Boston Ballet in 2023. His ballet journey began humbly at the age of eleven in Brazil. Marked by hard work and perseverance, it later led him to prestigious schools like Paris Opera Ballet and London's Royal Ballet. As a Principal Dancer with the Norwegian National Ballet, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet and subsequently Boston Ballet, Paulo's talent has been featured repeatedly in masterpieces worldwide.
Paulo's story and ballet journey embody the essence of our school's vision. Paulo not only showcases unparalleled precision and artistry in his craft, but also a deep passion and commitment to guiding and teaching the next generation of young dancers, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and beginnings. Paulo’s legacy is now woven into the fabric of Arrais Ballet, where physical and emotional health are nurtured through movement and individuality and the love of dance are celebrated.

Paulo Arrais is an exceptional teacher! He is very accomplished but down-to-earth. The pop-up had students from different skill levels and abilities; Paulo thoughtfully evaluated each one and was able to modify the combinations to ensure individual growth. His Pilates background is very helpful when he considers everyone’s injuries, helping kids to continue dancing while being safe. Paulo taught us technique, pointe, variation, repertoire and how to express ourselves through pantomime. The intensive was very dynamic and so much fun!

My 12 years old daughter enjoyed every moment of her training with Arrais Ballet. Mr. Paulo Arrais is not just professional but fully knowledgeable as to how to challenge his students and make them confident dancers. The pop intensive she recently attended was of world class instruction. The pantomime class was one of the highlights of the training. Every student walked out empowered and it was so beautiful to see how each one of them smiled so confidently at the end of the day!
