1-Day Intensive with Miko Fogarty

January 19, 2026

Miko Fogarty was born in London and is a former award-winning professional ballet dancer and current podiatric surgery resident. At age twelve, she was selected as one of six dancers featured in the critically acclaimed documentary First Position: A Ballet Documentary, directed by Bess Kargman. After training at the Indiana Ballet Conservatory in the U.S. and Jinushi Kaoru Ecole du Ballet in Japan, Miko joined the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2015 as its youngest artist, touring the United Kingdom in productions of Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Nutcracker.

She went on to receive international recognition, winning the Gold Medal at the Moscow International Ballet Competition, becoming a Prize Winner at the Prix de Lausanne, and reaching nearly 30 million views on YouTube. Her success led to invitations to perform in galas across the globe, including in Peru, Bulgaria, Russia, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Scotland, and throughout the United States.

Miko discovered her passion for teaching in 2016 while leading her first variation workshop in Thailand. Since then, she has coached students across the U.S., New Zealand, Panama, Mexico, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. She is recognized for her attention to detail and ability to nurture artistry on stage. Her students have earned accolades such as the Hope Award and Youth Grand Prix Award at YAGP, and have been accepted into prestigious professional schools including the Royal Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, Paris Opera Ballet School, Colorado Ballet Academy, Ellison Ballet, School of American Ballet, Princess Grace Academy in Monaco, and the John

Cranko Schule.

Currently, Miko is training to become a foot and ankle surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with honors from Samuel Merritt University College of Podiatric Medicine after completing her Biology degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

Miko hopes to merge her love of the arts and science to inspire students and patients alike—encouraging them to set ambitious goals and pursue them with dedication and passion.
