Rachele Buriassi is a principal dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. Originally from Sarzana, Italy, she began ballet at age 4. At 11 she earned a full scholarship to École De Danse de Rosella Hightower in France, then moved on to the John Cranko School in Germany, receiving Vaganova training.


After graduating in 2006, Rachele joined the corps de Ballet at Stuttgart Ballet. She was promoted to Second Soloist in 2010 and First Soloist in 2012. In 2015 she joined Boston Ballet as First Soloist, and in 2019 she became a Principal dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal.


Rachele’s rich repertoire spans classical and contemporary works, including lead roles in ballets by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Jorma Elo, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and more. She has also had many pieces choreographed for her such as The Concertone by Mauro Bigonzetti and Lady Of The Camelias by Yuri Yanowsky. In addition to performing, Rachele regularly teaches master-classes and appears as a guest artist worldwide.
